Video Games Reviews Guide |
All the reasonable people, gamers included, like to know what they buy
beforehand. That means that before obtaining ourselves some new video games most of us like to
go through
several video games reviews and see what those who have already tried
the new game have to say. In the age of Internet, it is common to
browse the web in search of such video games reviews, though there are
lots of gaming-related magazines being published.
There are specialized
gaming-related web-sites, too, of course... and then there are on-line
forums, also known as message boards. Lots of gamers in one place, and
whenever new games hit the stores there are topics at the forums
dedicated to them. People express their opinion there and proudly call
their rambling 'video games reviews'. In some cases, it is true. In
others... let us not go there. And the "let's not go there" video games
reviews, to be fair, can be found within the professional sources, as
well. In a nutshell: video games reviews are good, but they cannot
always give you a good understanding of what the game itself is going
to be. Do read the video games reviews, by all means! But please, have
it in you to take everything with a grain of salt. Look for elaborate
video games reviews; a simple "I don't like it because it sucks" can
prevent you from buying a really great game if you're sensitive, just
as a haughty "OMG the best game ever" can make you buy something you'll
hate at the first sight. You need video games reviews whose authors
actually describe the games.
Funny enough, through somebody's negative
review you can find out something to your liking: to put it roughly,
someone preferring sports
video
games will write a hateful, spiteful review about why he
hated some
games: "No ball to toss around, no cars to race, just stupid elves
running through the forest in the first and idiotic magicians in the
second!" - and you will recognize the RPG
video games of your dreams. Oh, and while we're on this
subject,
beware the biased. We doubt an avid PS3
video games fan can always rightfully appreciate Nintendo video games
for what
they are worth.
